课程主题:Recent Algorithms for Genomic Big Data

      This course aims to discuss recent development in computational genomics, including methods using new data structures and techniques from optimization, high-dimensional statistics, and machine learning. The methodology development will be the focus but the biological significance will also be stressed.

      Day 1 - Basics in genomics, algorithm concepts, and machine learning basics
      Lecture 1: Introduction to genomic big data
      Lecture 2: Overview of algorithm design techniques

      Day 2 - New methods to align, search, and compress massive amount of genomic data. Methods to identify functional elements from large-scale functional assays.
      Lecture 3: Processing and managing high-throughput sequencing data
      Lecture 4: Identifying functional elements

      Day 3 - Graphical models to infer regulatory networks. Methods to identify important features for nuclear genome organization
      Lecture 5: Inferring regulatory networks
      Lecture 6: Modeling high-order genome organization

      Day 4 - Algorithms to identify structural variants and copy number alterations in cancer. Algorithms to study intratumor heterogeneity to identify tumor subclones using CNAs
      Lecture 7: Identifying complex genomic alterations in cancer
      Lecture 8: Modeling tumor heterogeneity and tumor phylogeny

      Day 5 - Deep learning and its application to regulatory genomics
      Lecture 9: Deep learning applications in genomics (I)
      Lecture 10: Deep learning applications in genomics (II)
